Severe explosion at Ernakulam in Kerala leaves many casualties

 


Ernakulam area of ​​Kerala was shaken by s severe  explosion.  An explosion took place at a convention center in Kalamassery area on Sunday morning.  One person died in this incident.  Several others were injured.  It is feared that the death toll may increase.  The event was held at the convention center.  That's when the explosion happened.  The cause of the explosion is not yet known.  Police and bomb squad reached the spot.  The police are investigating whether there is a terrorist link in the blast.  A four-member team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) has left for the spot.



 Eyewitnesses claimed that there were three explosions.  The injured have been rescued and admitted to the hospital.  Locals claim that the event was going on at the convention center for three days.  Sunday was the last day of the program.  It is claimed that there were about 2 thousand people there on Sunday.  The first blast occurred around 9 am.  After that two more explosions were claimed.  The convention center is surrounded by police.  Rescue work is going on.


 Kerala Health Minister Veena George has directed the Health Department to make all arrangements for the treatment of the injured in the blast.  All hospitals have been ordered to be alert.  The minister ordered the doctors and health workers on leave to join work immediately.


 Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, "It is a very unfortunate incident.  Inquiring.  Top officials have been sent to Ernakulam.  Looking seriously.  I have spoken to the DGP.  Everything will be known only after investigation.
