Asian Games 2022 : India ensures 100 medals , reaches final in Kabaddi , mens Cricket
India has ensured 100 medals in Hangzlou Asian Games 2022 . Thus the slogan "Iss Baar 100 paar" has succeeded . Many of the medals need final confirmation as to its colour but 100 medals are confirmed for India in this games .
India mens are in Kabaddi final at Asian Games. They defeated Pakistan in the boys' semi-final and reached the final. India beat Pakistan 61-14 on Friday. After the girls, the boys also reached the finals of Kabaddi.
Pakistan advanced to the opening semi-final on Friday. But that was only temporary. Indian players dominated the entire match. India led by 30-5 points in the first half. In the second half, that gap increased to 61-14.
India got 12 points by bowling out Pakistan twice. At one point, Pakistan's players did not know how to stop India from getting points.
Earlier in the day, the women's kabaddi team defeated Nepal in the semi-finals. They won by 61-17 points. The girls will play against Chinese Taipei in the final. Who the boys will play in the final will be decided after the semi-final between Iran and Taipei.
In Archery India got Silver medal after losing to powerhouse South Korea 1-5 in Final of Men's Recurve Team event.
Sonam won Bronze medal after beating World medalist & reigning Asian Champion Long Jia of China 6-4 in 62kg category in wrestling.
In cricket fine bowling by the young Indian spinners and inept batting by Bangladesh helped India to notch up a comfortable 9 wicket win and move into the Asian Games final . India thereby has secured a medal in the Asian Games .
Put in to bat first , the Bangladesh team looked in total disarray from the start as they kept losing wickets while Sai Kishore and Washington Sundar spun a web around them . Wickets fell like nine pins and only 3 Bangladesh batters reach double figures . Emon (23) , Zaker Ali (24 not out ) and Rakibul (14) added some vital runs as Bangladesh scored only 96/9 in 20 overs . For India , Sundar took 2 wickets while Sai Kishore took 3 wickets
India did lose Jaiswal (0) on the 3rd ball of the innings but Ruturaj Gaikwad (40*) and Tilak Verma (54*) smashed around the Bangladesh bowling with dazzling strokeplay as India hit 6 fours and 9 sixes to complete the chase in just 10 overs to race into the final .
India will meet Afghanistan in the final who beat Pakistan by 4 wickets in a nervy semi final . Batting first Pakistan were all out for only 116 in 18 overs of poor batting as the Afghan spinners led by Farid Ahmed (3 wkts) dominated . In reply Afghanistan did stutter many times but Zadran (39) and skipper Gulbadin Naib (26*) batted well to take the team to win.
