Ronaldo wins first trophy for his Saudi club , shares his delight on Twitter

 


Cristiano Ronaldo won the first trophy for Saudi club Al Nasser.  Al Nasser beat Al Hilal 2-1 in the final of the Arab Club Champions Cup.  Both goals by Ronaldo.  However, Ronaldo could not stay on the field in the end.  He had to leave the field due to a knee injury.  At the end of the match, however, he joined the cheers of winning the trophy with his teammates.


 Even though he joined Al Nasser last season, Ronaldo could not win a trophy for so long.  This time he had a bird's eye view of the Arab Club Champions Cup.  Ronaldo played his best game in the final.  Although there was no goal in the first half, Al Hilal scored the first goal in the second half after 51 minutes.  That progress didn't last long, though.  Ronaldo equalized after 74 minutes by meeting a cross from the right .  After that, Al Nasser's Al Amiri and Nawaf Boushal saw red cards seven minutes apart.  As a result, Al Nasser has to play with 9 people for the rest of the time.


 After 90 minutes, the game went to extra time.  Ronaldo scored again in the 98th minute when he headed in a rebound off crossbar .  After that he injured his knee.  Ronaldo had to be carried off the field on a stretcher.  CR7 cried.  Although at the end, a smile can be seen on Ronaldo's face again.  He was seen cheering with the trophy after winning 2-1.


 Ronaldo later thanked the fans on social media.  He wrote, “Proud to see the team win this important trophy for the first time.  Thanks to all the footballers of the club.  It's a team win.  Thanks to my family and friends for being there.  I also thank the audience for their support.”
