Chandrayaan-3 Lander Vikram sends first picture of moon after landing to ISRO

Chandrayaan-3's lander Vikram started working after a successful 'final landing' of 19 minutes.  The pictures taken from the lunar surface were sent to the headquarters of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

In a tweet by ISRO, the picture of the final phase of Vikram's landing process at the Moon's South Pole was released, writing, "Direct connection with Chandrayaan-3's lander at Mox-ISTRC (ISRO's War Room)" from inside Vikram's abdomen in the next stage.  Pragyan rover will land on the moon.

At 5:45 pm on Wednesday, the landing process of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft began on the lunar surface in an automated manner.  The deadline announced by ISRO ends.  At 6:40 p.m.  Vikram's altitude was initially reduced from 30 km above the lunar surface to 7 km.  In scientific terms, this stage is called 'Rough Breaking'.  The next stage is the soft landing stage.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Johannesburg, South Africa to attend the BRICS summit.  He was witnessing the landing of Vikram from there on Wednesday.  He joined ISRO's live broadcast to encourage scientists.  After Vikram's landing success , Modi congratulated the scientists associated with Chandrayaan-3 and 1.4 billion Indians and said, "In India we call the Earth mother and the moon uncle."  Mothers of children in India have been saying, 'Chandamama dur ki hai' for so long.  I believe very soon the next generation of children in India will say 'Chandamama tour ki hai'
