India's golden boy Neeraj Chopra has created history. He has become the first Indian athlete to win gold at the World Athletics Championships. Neeraj targeted the gold medal with a throw of 88.17 meters in the Javelin Throw event at the National Athletics Center in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. There are a total of six attempts ie rounds in the final and Neeraj threw 88.17 meters in the second round itself. Since then he was maintaining the lead in the points table and this lead was maintained till the end.

A champion in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Diamond League, this player had not only won gold in the World Athletics Championships before this tournament, but now he has a gold medal in his bag. Neeraj's six attempted throws were 88.17m, 86.32m, 84.64m, 87.73m and 83.98m.
Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem was Neeraj's biggest challenger. He won the silver medal with a throw of 87.82 metres. At the same time, Jakub Vedlech of the Czech Republic targeted the bronze medal with the best throw of 86.67 meters. Neeraj was accompanied by two other Indian players DP Manu and Kishore Jena in the final. Kishor finished fifth with a best throw of 84.77m while DP Manu finished sixth with a best throw of 84.14m.

First round: Neeraj could not do much in the first round. His attempt was called a foul. DP Manu has thrown the javelin at a distance of 78.44 meters. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan threw 74.80 metres.
Round 2: Neeraj made a comeback in the second round and finished first with a throw of 88.17m. He is on top at the end of the second round. Kishore Jena threw the javelin at a distance of 82.82 metres. He is in fifth position. DP Manu is at number 10 with a score of 78.44m. Arshad Nadeem is at the fourth position. He threw a distance of 82.81 meters in the second round.
Third round: Neeraj threw the javelin at a distance of 86.32 meters in the third round. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem threw a distance of 87.82 meters in the third round. India's DP Manu has thrown the javelin at 83.72 metres. This is his best performance in three rounds. Whereas, Kishore Jena failed in the third round. His throw was called a foul.
Fourth round: Neeraj made a throw of 84.64 meters in the fourth round. DP Manu's throw was called a foul. Kishore Jena made a throw of 80.19 metres. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan threw the javelin at a distance of 87.15 metres. After four rounds, Neeraj is first, Arshad second and Germany's Julian Weber third. Now two more rounds are left.
Fifth round: Neeraj threw the javelin at a distance of 87.73 meters in the fifth round. Kishore Jena's throw in the fifth round was called a foul. At the same time, DP Manu threw a throw of 83.48 meters in the fifth attempt.
Sixth round: In the sixth round, Neeraj made a throw of 83.98m. At the same time, Kishore's sixth attempt was foul. DP Manu made a throw of 84.14m. This was his best throw in the final so far. After the 6th attempt, Neeraj hugged DP Manu and Kishore Jena and looked very happy.
Last time Neeraj had won a silver medal in the World Championship. The 25-year-old Indian star athlete won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He also managed to win gold medals at the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games in 2018. He also won the Diamond League last year.
