Lander 'Vikram' separated from Chandrayaan-3, will touch the moon's soil next Wednesday
The moment to land on the moon is getting closer . Indian Space Research Organization's Chandrayaan-3 has started breathing on the moon's neck. The lander separated from the spacecraft on Thursday. Chandrayaan-3's lander 'Vikram' will land on the moon next Wednesday.
After separation from the main spacecraft, the lander 'Vikram' will have its initial destination in an orbit 30 km above the lunar surface, ISRO said. From there, it will be brought down to the ground of the moon step by step.
After the separation of 'Vikram' from Chandrayaan-3 on Thursday, the process of landing on the lunar surface has officially started. ISRO has already announced that the lander will touch the lunar surface on August 23. But many people think that 'Vikram' may land on the moon before the scheduled time.
ISRO still has six days to land Vikram on the moon after separation from the main spacecraft. However, the landing process after separation usually does not take that much time. As a result, there will be an eye on whether 'Bikram' will land on the moon before time or not.
The main destination of 'Bikram' is the South Pole of the Moon. No spacecraft from any country has landed there yet. India will create history if ISRO is able to successfully land a lander on the south pole of the Moon.
Chandrayaan-3 was successfully launched from the launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh at 2:35 PM on July 14. Chandrayaan-3 reached lunar orbit 22 days after launch.
This is the third of ISRO's missions to send an unmanned spacecraft to the Moon. ISRO's mission has failed twice before. However, Chandrayaan has been successfully sent to the moon's orbit before. At the last stage, there was a setback while landing on the moon. This time too, the whole country is looking towards the last and perhaps the most difficult phase. Its first phase has been successfully completed.

Chandrayaan-3's lander Vikram is scheduled to make a 'soft landing' with the rover Pragyan inside its belly next Wednesday. Four years ago, ISRO's 'Chandrayaan-2' failed at that stage. It remains to be seen whether ISRO succeeds this time. Whole of India is watching & waiting with fingers crossed .
