Aussies butcher Proteas , Eng beat NZ in separate T20I series games
Australia and England won their 1st T20I games of separate T20I series in contrasting styles . While new skipper Mitch Marsh smashed 92 not out to decimate South Africa at Durban , a good combined team performance enabled clinical England to outplay New Zealand at Chester
Aus v SA
Australia blew away hosts South Africa by a whopping margin of 111 runs in the 1st of the T20Is at Durban. Put into bat first, the tourists posted a massive 226/6 in reply to which the hosts meekly folded up for 115 .
Australia lost two quick wickets at the start with Head (6) getting out to Jansen after hitting a 6 and the dangerous looking Mathew Short (20 off 11 ) getting out within powerplay . However new skipper Mitch Marsh took on the South African bowling in blistering fashion and started hitting explosive shots all around the park . Aussies did lose Englis and Stoinis early but Tim David joined forces with Marsh and the two completely decimated the South African bowling in the middle overs particularly Tim David who butchered the hosts bowlers to put on an explosive 64 off 28 balls including 4 sixes . Later debutant Hardie (23) hit a cameo while Marsh stayed unbeaten on a belligerent 92 off 49 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes .
In reply the hosts with their batting lineup were rocked right at start when Marcus Stoinis produced an in coming ball to knock out Temba Bavuma early. Van Dussen and Reeza Hendricks briefly raised hopes but it was quickly nipped in the bud with Dussen's (21) dismissal as South Africa lost wickets in clumps in the middle overs while debutant leggie Tanvir Sanga caused havoc taking 4/31 with very impressive bowling . His dismissal of the top Proteas batters particularly Stubbs who was stumped was impressive as South Africa could not get any momentum in their innings. Reeza Hendricks fought a lone battle scoring 54 ,playing some sparkling shots but he didnt get any support exept from Jansen (20) as South Africa folded up for 115 to lose by 111 runs . Apart from Sanga , Stoinis (3/18) was very impressive while the other debutant , Spencer Johnson took 2/33 and bowled with pace . Mitch Marsh for his brilliant 92 not out was the player of the match .

Meanwhile , New Zealand are locked with England in a T20I series and the first match at Chester Le Street saw England outplaying the tourists by 7 wickets
Batting first the Kiwis never got any momentum in their innings . Finn Allen (21) started promisingly with 3 huge sixes but was dismissed soon after Conway (3) who was the first to go . New Zealand innings never got any momentum as only Glenn Philip's came up with some resistance with 35 . Later the tailenders added some bold runs as the Kiwis finished at 139. Brydon Carse was very impressive with 3/23 , Luke Wood took 3 wickets while the spinners controlled the middle overs well
In reply England lost early wickets with Bairstow (4) and Jacks (22) falling cheaply. However it was Dawid Malan (54) and Harry Brook (43*) who paved te way for an easy win with scintillating strokeplay . Brook looked in great nick and was hitting the balls in his typical style showing his talent. England won by 7 wickets with 36 balls to spare and Brydone Carse with 3 wickets was the player of the match
