India is the fourth country to have successfully landed a spacecraft on the Moon (after the US, Russia and China). And ISRO also got the credit of discovering the south pole of the moon.
Lander Vikram set foot on lunar soil. History is made. Celebrations are on at ISRO office.
After the success of Chandrayaan-3, the country is in a festive mood. Common people celebrate India's success by burning firecrackers. ISRO scientists are overwhelmed with emotion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in South Africa to attend the BRICS summit. He was witnessing the landing of Vikram from there on Wednesday. He joined ISRO's live broadcast to encourage scientists.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the witness of history. After Vikram set foot on the moon, he waved the national flag and expressed his excitement. After that he started to give a speech.
The Prime Minister said, “My best wishes to Team Chandrayaan, scientists. They have worked for years for this moment. Greetings to 140 crore countrymen. The call of India's rising destiny is at this moment. The call of immortality. The rise of a new India in space. I am in South Africa now. Along with the countrymen, my mind was also here.
20 minutes before landing Lander Vikram began its descent. The scientists started the landing process at 5:45 by the clock. As soon as the landing started, everyone clapped their hands in the ISRO office.
Vikram's speed was reduced to 1,150 meters per second as the descent began as the kilometers started to reduce gradually
Vikram's height was reduced from 30 km to 7 km first. This stage is called rough breaking.
As soon as the kilometers got reduced to zero and Vikram made its landing , the excitement of all the people present at ISRO knew no bounds . It was a great success after years of hard work and sacrifice .
July 14th exactly 2:35 PM. Chandrayaan-3 took the first step towards making history. The ISRO spacecraft flew to the moon from the launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. ISRO scientists spent 40 days without food, drink and sleep, day and night. Monitored the movement of Chandrayaan-3. To witness the moment of making history. Finally the wait is over. Lander Vikram reached the 'moon house' floating. On Wednesday evening at 6:04 PM, the moon touched the ground and announced the great presence of Indian science progress.
After the failure of Chandrayaan-2 in 2019, ISRO's dream of landing on the moon was shattered. ISRO's former chairman K Sivan broke down in tears. But ISRO scientists did not give up. Disappointed, ISRO started working on Chandrayaan-3. Learning from the mistakes of the past and starting to prepare to touch the soil of the moon again. The Indian Space Research Organization started a new path with the goal of making history.
And indeed the rest as they say is history
