India win Ireland T20I series 2-0 , as rain washes out 3rd game

 



A disappointing day for cricket as persistent rains totally washed out the 3rd T20I between India and hosts Ireland at Dublin . After 3 hours of wait the match was called off with India winning the series 2-0 . It may be recalled that the 1st game was also partially washed out by rain with India having batted just 7 overs after Ireland batted their full 20 overs . India were declared winners by 2 runs on DLS method .


India outplayed Ireland by 33 runs in 2nd game to capture the series . Both the teams needed to play the  3rd game . India needed to get some of their new players tested further as well as get Bumrah and Krishna to bowl more overs whereas Ireland missed a chance to play one more game against a top team .


With the series done , Jasprit Bumrah for his good bowling and 4 wickets in the series was awarded the man of the series . For India , Ruturaj Gaikwad,  Rinku Singh , Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi utilised their brief opportunities in this series with good performances
