Pragyan Rover of Chandrayaan-3 has confirmed Sulphur existence on moon South pole

Pragyan Rover is on a discovery mission of moon south pole . It has confirmed that

Sulphur is near the south pole of the moon.   The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced this information on Tuesday evening on the X (formerly Twitter) handle.  They also said that apart from sulphur, aluminum, calcium, iron, chromium, titanium, manganese, silicon, oxygen also exist in the south pole of the moon.  The search for hydrogen is underway.

The rover Pragyan came down from the lander Vikram in the early morning of August 24.  Since then, this six-wheeled vehicle has been exploring the moon.  According to ISRO, the presence of aluminum, calcium, iron, chromium, titanium, manganese, silicon, oxygen at the south pole of the moon was expected.  This time the search for hydrogen is going on.  Pragyan has the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS).  This technology collects samples and tests them through laser technology.  The technology was developed at the Electro-Optics Systems Laboratory at ISRO, Bangalore.  Through LIBS, Pragyan found traces of several minerals including sulfur on the moon.

Pragyan spent six days on the lunar soil.  No other country had previously sent a spacecraft to the part of the Moon where the Vikram lander landed near the south pole.  As a result, that area is unknown to Earth scientists.  The information that Pragyan is sending is important for research on the Moon.  Last August 23, Wednesday at exactly 6:04 PM, the third Chandrayaan lander Vikram set foot on the lunar soil.  The lander made a feather-like landing (soft landing), which no one had ever done before.  A few hours after landing Pragyan came out of Vikram's stomach by opening the door.  Its speed is only one centimeter per second.
