Stage set for Chandrayaan-3 to create history , the moment is hours away

The moment of truth is hours away .

It had already entered the moon's orbit.  Lander Vikram also successfully ejected from Chandrayaan-3 with rover Pragyan.  In this situation, Chandrayaan-3 connected with the orbiter used in the failed mission of Chandrayaan-2 four years ago.  This was announced on Monday by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).  On behalf of ISRO, it has been written on Twitter, "Welcome friends.  Chandrayaan-2's orbiter hails Chandrayaan-3's lander module.  Two-way communication has been established.'' ISRO also said that the live broadcast of the landing of the lander Vikram will start from 5:20 PM on Wednesday.

Incidentally, ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft failed to land the lander 'Vikram' on the back of the moon on September 6, 2019.  The orbiter sent on that mission is still orbiting the moon.  Therefore, in this campaign, ISRO did not send any orbiter to the moon's orbit.  This time, the lander accompanying Chandrayaan-3 and the rover inside it will take the help of Chandrayaan-2's orbiter to land on the moon.  The research will be carried out on the ground of the moon for two weeks.  According to ISRO sources, connecting Chandrayaan-2 with the orbiter is an important step in this situation.

Next Wednesday, Vikram is scheduled to set foot on the lunar surface at exactly 6:04 PM Indian time.  But where will the landing be?  Bikram needs relatively smooth ground in the inaccessible cratered soil of the Moon's south pole.  ISRO is currently looking for that.  A few pictures were shared by ISRO on Monday.  Vikram is looking for a safe landing place before stepping on the moon.  ISRO has shared the images taken by its camera with everyone.

In a tweet, ISRO wrote, “These are pictures of the far side of the moon.  These images were taken by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LHDAC) inside Bikram.  This special camera helps in finding a safe place to land on the lunar surface.''

Stones are scattered on the land of the moon.  There are also many small and big holes.  High mounds can also become obstacles.  ISRO's primary goal is to pre-identify relatively empty space by avoiding rocks or potholes.  After that, Vikram will be dropped there.  On Wednesday evening, Chandrayaan-3's lander Vikram will carry rover Pragyan in its belly like a bird's feather for a 'soft landing' on the lunar surface.  This phase of the lunar mission is considered to be the most difficult.  Chandrayaan-2 failed at this stage four years ago.  However, ISRO claims that there is no such possibility this time.  Vikram is going to land on the lunar surface soon if there are no major setbacks.  The whole country is looking at the moment .
