EAS Prasanna  was born on May 22, 1940, in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He is a former Indian cricketer and one of the finest off-spin bowlers India has produced.


### Career Highlights


1. **Test Debut and Early Career:**

   - Prasanna made his Test debut for India against England on January 27, 1962, in Chennai.

   - Early in his career, he was part of the famous Indian spin quartet, which included spin legends  Bishan Singh Bedi, Bhagwat Chandrasekhar, and S. Venkataraghavan.


2. **Technical Mastery:**

   - Prasanna was known for his exceptional control, flight, and guile as an off-spinner.

   - He had a unique ability to deceive batsmen with his loop and varying pace.


3. **Significant Performances:**

   - He took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket against New Zealand in 1967, finishing with figures of 6/94.

   - One of his most notable performances came against the West Indies in the 1967-68 series where he took 25 wickets in 4 Tests, playing a pivotal role in India's first series win in the Caribbean.

   - Another memorable performance was during the 1969-70 tour of Australia, where he took 6/74 in Sydney, demonstrating his skill on foreign pitches.


4. **Career Statistics:**

   - Prasanna played 49 Test matches for India, taking 189 wickets at an average of 30.38.

   - He achieved 10 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket match hauls in his Test career.

   - Prasanna was renowned for his strategic approach to off-spin bowling and is often remembered for his contributions to Indian cricket during the 1960s and 70s.
