ISL10: Mumbai FC outplay Mohun Bagan in final to lift ISL trophy 2023-24

Mohun Bagan won the league shield by defeating Mumbai City FC.  Mumbai took sweet revenge in Yuva Bharati & won the ISL final 3-1 by totally outplaying Mohun Bagan.  Diaz, Bipin and Yakub scored for Mumbai.  Jason Cummins gave Mohun Bagan an early lead.  But the Habas boys failed to hold that lead due to terrible defense and sloppy football.  The green and maroon fans left the Yuva Bharati with utter disappointment.  After 2021, once again in the final, the victory of the Habas army stopped by Mumbai.

The 1st half was dominated by Mumbai with their sleek passing and fluent attacks . Changte hit the post twice, once off a freekick and other time off a shot . Mohun Bagan was struggling to gain any control till their goal came against the run of play .

Mohun Bagan went ahead with the goal of Jason Cummins.  Lepchana misjudged Petratos' long-range shot.  There was no control even when blocking shots.  Cummins was waiting in the box like an opportunistic forward.  He fooled the goalkeeper and chipped the ball into the net.

Mohun Bagan started the second half by showing dominance in the game.  Twice Liston attacked without success.  Mumbai finally equalized in 52 minutes.  Alberto Nguerra extended a long pass from midfield to Diaz in the box.  Dias scored with Manbir Singh on his neck.  After that, Stengun celebrations went towards Mohun Bagan Gallery.  It is understood that he responded to Mohun Bagan's taunts the previous day.

Even after the goal, Mumbai's attack continued.  In 61 minutes, they wasted two opportunities in a row.  Changte passed to Jayesh Rane in the middle of the box.  But Jayesh's shot goes wide.  After that, Changte passed to the right side of the Mohun Bagan box.  From there, Rahul Veck's shot goes wide.

Like the first half, Mumbai's dominance continued in the second half as well.  Bipin Singh came in after Dias got injured.  He scored Mumbai's second goal.  Yuste saved Vikram's pass from the right side but took a shot at Changte.  The ball goes to Yakub Vojtas.  He passes to Bipin who was waiting  in the box.  Bipin missed in the first attempt but did not forget the second time.  The ball hits Vishal's legs and gets caught in the net.

Mohun Bagan's performance in the rest of the match was surprising.  Despite getting about 15 minutes of connection time, there were no noticeable attacks.  Mumbai scored another goal in added time.  Mohun Bagan defenders are to blame for this.  Yakub gave a pass to Vikram.  He gave a pass to Bipin.  Bipin's shot was somehow saved by Shubashis but Bhojtas in front scored.  Just before that, Mumbai squandered an easy chance.  Vishal was alone in front of Bipin and Changte duo.  But the goal was not scored due to the wrong pass by the Mumbai footballers.  If all goes well, Mohun Bagan should have lost by at least five goals, not three.
