Mitsubishi Electric Robot Solves Rubik's Cube in a Blink creating World Record

Five young engineers at Mitsubishi Electric have created a champion cube solver! Their robot bested the Guinness World Record for solving a Rubik's Cube in a lightning-fast 0.305 seconds. That's faster than most of us can blink (which takes 0.1 to 0.3 seconds).

The previous record of 0.38 seconds belonged to an American university team. The human record? A much more leisurely 3 seconds.

The impressive feat is thanks to the engineers' ingenuity. They leveraged technology used in Mitsubishi Electric appliances to develop the robot. This tech allows for super-precise and speedy motor movements, enabling the robot to twist a Rubik's Cube face a whopping 90 degrees in just 0.009 seconds!

Cameras and artificial intelligence take care of color recognition, guiding the robot's lightning-fast moves.

The road to victory wasn't a straight line. The robot flubbed its first attempt, jamming the cube. But after 20 minutes of adjustments, the team secured the record on their second try. They only had one hour to complete the challenge, making their success even more impressive.
