AstraZeneca withdraws Covid vaccine globally: side effects admitted
AstraZeneca, the company that provided vaccines to people during the coronavirus pandemic around the world, has recalled its corona vaccine. The company has said that it is recalling its Vaxjeveria vaccine from all over the world. It is worth noting that AstraZeneca's licensed Covishield vaccine was also given in India to prevent corona. The Covishield vaccine administered in India is also made on the same formula on which the Vaxjeveria vaccine is made. Covishield was manufactured in India by the Serum Institute of India, but no decision has been taken yet to withdraw the corona vaccine in India.
According to The Telegraph report, AstraZeneca has claimed that an updated version of the vaccine is available, so the old stock of the vaccine has been recalled. According to the report, the company had decided to recall the vaccine Vaxjeveria on March 5 itself, but this order came into effect from May 7. This move by the British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has come at a time when the company has recently admitted that side effects of the Covid vaccine have been seen in some cases and due to this, symptoms of Thrombosis Thrombocytopenia Syndrome disease have been seen in some people, in which blood clots start forming in people.
AstraZeneca company is facing many lawsuits regarding the covid vaccine. It is alleged that many people have lost their lives after getting the covid vaccine. A person named Jamie Scott has filed a complaint against AstraZeneca. Scott alleges that after taking the vaccine, he had a problem of blood clotting in his body and bleeding in the brain as well. This caused damage to his brain. More than 50 such cases have been registered against the company. The company also admitted in written documents in the court that side effects of the corona vaccine may appear in some rare cases.
AstraZeneca has decided to recall the corona vaccine from Europe and other countries of the world. No such decision has been taken by the Serum Institute in India yet. Concerns are being raised about Covishield in India as well and a petition has also been filed in the Supreme Court regarding this and a hearing has been sought on the concerns related to the safety of the vaccine. The Supreme Court has also agreed to the hearing, but the date has not been fixed yet.
