Kolkata-Rajasthan match was washed away by rain.  On this day, the toss was repeatedly delayed due to rain.  Finally the toss was done around 10:15 pm.  Kolkata won the toss and decided to bowl first.  However, when it started raining again, the match officials decided to share the points.  As a result, KKR remained at the top of the league table.  Due to which Shreyas' team will get two qualifiers.  On the other hand, Sanju Samson's team did not have that chance as they finished at number three.  Hyderabad moved up to number two after today's  win over Punjab Kings

KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) had to face the rain while playing their last match at home.  A prolonged rain resulted in a late toss.  Instead of 20 overs, the two teams played a 16 over match.  Although KKR won that match by performing brilliantly.  The Knight Brigade had reached the top of the points table.  Rained again against Gujarat Titans.  Not a single ball was played in that match organized in Ahmedabad.  In the end, both teams have to be satisfied with one point from the match.  However, with this one point, KKR entered the playoffs as the first team in the current IPL.  Later, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore reached the playoffs.

However, KKR did not suffer as the match was washed away due to rain.  They will enter the playoffs from the top of the points table.  However, the rain was disappointing for the opposition Rajasthan.  Sanju Samson's team dropped to third place in the points table due to not being able to win this match.  As a result, they did not have two chances to reach the final.  Hyderabad will get that opportunity as the second team in the points table.
