KKR wins 3rd IPL title , blows away SRH by 8 wickets . Starc , Russell shines

  


Korbo, Lorbo and Jeetbo…Kolkata Knight Riders have proved their slogan right. In the final of IPL 2024, the Kolkata team performed brilliantly, they fought and in the end they won the title battle. In the final played in Chennai, Kolkata Knight Riders absolutely thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets. Shahrukh Khan's team won the IPL title for the third time and after 10 years this team became the champion. Kolkata won the IPL for the last time in 2014. Gautam Gambhir was the captain at that time and this season this player is the mentor of the team and under his guidance this team has once again become the champion.


Kolkata Knight Riders won the final match in a one-sided manner. In Chennai, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to bat first and this decision of Pat Cummins backfired on the team. Hyderabad's innings faltered in the first over itself. KKR fast bowler Mitchell Starc bowled Abhishek Sharma for just 2 runs with a beautiful delivery that pitched & left the batter and hit top of off stump . After this, in the next over, Vaibhav Arora did not allow Travis Head to even open the account as the outswinger took the edge .  Rahul Tripathi could score only 9 runs before he skied one in the air off Starc . Markram(20) fought hard for a while before Russell dismissed him .  Nitish Reddy(13 ) and Klassen (16 ) were both dismissed by Harshit Rana . Klaasen was bowled by a fuller delivery and that was the moment it was clear that there will be one winner .  Overall, Hyderabad team could score only 113 runs. KKR bowlers destroyed Sunrisers Hyderabad's batting. Russell took 3 wickets for just 19 runs. Starc got 2 successes. Harshit Rana took 2 wickets. Narine took 1 wicket for 16 runs in 4 overs. Chakraborty took 1 wicket for 9 runs.

On the Chennai pitch where Hyderabad's batting flopped, Kolkata's batsmen wreaked havoc. Narine got out after scoring 6 runs but after this Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer made the team IPL champion by sharing 91 runs stand . Venkatesh Iyer played a blazing  unbeaten innings of 52 runs in 26 balls sending the ball to all parts of the ground .


Mitchell Starc for his brilliant bowling spell was the player of the match .


Both the bowlers and batsmen of Kolkata Knight Riders made a great contribution in the entire tournament. Sunil Narine scored the highest 488 runs for the team. Phil Salt contributed 435 runs. Venkatesh Iyer scored 368 runs at an average of 46. Shreyas Iyer also scored 350 runs. In bowling, Varun Chakraborty took the highest 21 wickets. Russell and Harshit Rana took 19 wickets each. Mitchell Starc and Narine took 17 wickets each. Vaibhav Arora took 11 wickets.

Red alert of more heavy rains in Maharashtra, closures announced in schools, colleges in some districts

  It is raining continuously in many districts of Maharashtra.  The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for 4 districts, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the state today i.e. on Thursday.  Keeping this in mind, a holiday has been declared today (July 27) for schools and colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur districts.  Orange alert of rain has been issued in Raigarh district.  In such a situation, the district administration will take a decision on the basis of the situation with Raigad district.  On the other hand, July 27 has been declared a holiday for all government, private schools, all colleges, all ashram schools, business and training centers within Panvel Municipal Corporation limits.  The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai as well as Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur.  In such a situation, keeping in view the possibility of heavy rains, school students of class I to 12 of all medium

Heavy rains totally disrupts train services in Mumbai area, CM orders early closure of Govt Offices

  Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, the speed of Mumbai local has slowed down.  Many trains have been cancelled and diverted. Due to heavy rains in Thane district adjacent to Mumbai, the track changing point on the Kalyan-Kasara route was damaged, due to which train services on this route were stopped on Wednesday afternoon.  A senior railway official gave this information.  The Central Railway also informed that it has diverted some mail and express trains on Diva-Panvel-Karjat route and Daund-Manmad route, besides terminating some trains between Mumbai and Pune.   Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday ordered that the government offices in Mumbai and the neighboring region should be closed early.
