IPL24: Pooran blitz enables LSG to beat MI in a consolation win

 



The farewell bell has rung long ago for Mumbai Indians .  KL Rahul's Lucknow (Lucknow Super Giants) had no hope of atop the run-rate hill.  As a result, the Wankhede match was a kind of a dead rubber for both teams.  Along with that, there is little hope of getting oxygen at the end of the season from a situation devastated by constant controversy.  Lucknow won the rain-hit battle.  After losing the match by 18 runs, the darkness of defeat engulfed Hardik's Mumbai once again.



 Mumbai captain Hardik won the toss and decided to bowl first.  There were several surprises in the party announcement.  Rohit and Bumrah were not in the first eleven.  Pollard had earlier said that there are no plans to rest the Indian power bowlers ahead of the T20 World Cup.  But on this day, Sachin's son Arjun Tendulkar made his debut in the current season instead of Bumrah.  He did not start badly.  But got injured in his second over and went out.  On the other hand, Lucknow's Devdutta Padikkal was quickly dismissed by Thushara Captain Rahul (55) played a fine knock and had a good partnership with Pooran after Stoinis (28),  Deepak Hooda (11) were dismissed .  Nicholas Pooran.  Caribbean star was in breathtaking touch .  His devastating innings stopped at 75 runs off just 29 balls which  destroyed the Mumbai attack who were without Jasprit Bumrah. Although it is a big target, it is not impossible to chase this score in the Wankhede field.  Rohit Sharma, who came in as an impact player, started playing a blistering innings from the beginning.  But rain stopped before the last ball of the fourth over.  In the current IPL, rains has affected a couple of  matches.  On this day, however, the rain did not last long.  But after that it started raining four-sixes from  Rohit's bat.


 In the last few matches, there has been a lot of discussion about his batting performance.  The fans were also worried about what will happen in the T20 World Cup.  The hitman answered all the questions in the last match of the season with a breathtaking innings of 68 runs off 38 balls.  He sent the ball around the field.  But as soon as Ravi Bishnoi got out, the famous Mumbai Indians came back.  Suryakumar (0), Ishan (14), Nehal Wadhera (16) went back one by one.  Captain Hardik (16) could not show hope even in the last match.  Naman Dhir (62) made a desperate effort towards the end with lusty hitting .  Even though it was too late, he lit up the hope of becoming the next season's star but the Mumbai win did not happen.  Mumbai Indians lost the match by 18 runs and fell at the bottom of the league table. Naveen & Bishnoi took 2 wickets each.  Pooran was the player of the match .

Red alert of more heavy rains in Maharashtra, closures announced in schools, colleges in some districts

  It is raining continuously in many districts of Maharashtra.  The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for 4 districts, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the state today i.e. on Thursday.  Keeping this in mind, a holiday has been declared today (July 27) for schools and colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur districts.  Orange alert of rain has been issued in Raigarh district.  In such a situation, the district administration will take a decision on the basis of the situation with Raigad district.  On the other hand, July 27 has been declared a holiday for all government, private schools, all colleges, all ashram schools, business and training centers within Panvel Municipal Corporation limits.  The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai as well as Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur.  In such a situation, keeping in view the possibility of heavy rains, school students of class I to 12 of all medium

Heavy rains totally disrupts train services in Mumbai area, CM orders early closure of Govt Offices

  Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, the speed of Mumbai local has slowed down.  Many trains have been cancelled and diverted. Due to heavy rains in Thane district adjacent to Mumbai, the track changing point on the Kalyan-Kasara route was damaged, due to which train services on this route were stopped on Wednesday afternoon.  A senior railway official gave this information.  The Central Railway also informed that it has diverted some mail and express trains on Diva-Panvel-Karjat route and Daund-Manmad route, besides terminating some trains between Mumbai and Pune.   Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday ordered that the government offices in Mumbai and the neighboring region should be closed early.
