IPL2025: RCB Finally Ends Home Losing Streak with Thrilling Win Over Rajasthan Royals

Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally broke their losing streak at home in IPL 2025. After losing three consecutive matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rajat Patidar’s side made a strong comeback and defeated Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs in a thrilling encounter. Powered by brilliant half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal, RCB posted a challenging total of 205 runs while batting first. In reply, impressive knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel gave Rajasthan hope, but clinical spells from Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya turned the tide in RCB’s favor and sealed a memorable win.

This was the fourth home game of the season for RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Captain Rajat Patidar lost the toss for the fourth consecutive time, and RCB were once again asked to bat first. Unlike the previous three games, however, Bengaluru got off to a solid start and managed to avoid early setbacks in the powerplay.

Virat Kohli (70) and Phil Salt (26) stitched together a strong opening stand of 61 runs in just 6.4 overs. Kohli then partnered with Devdutt Padikkal (50), and the duo continued their stellar form against Rajasthan, adding 95 runs off just 51 deliveries for the second wicket. While Kohli notched up his fifth half-century of the season, Padikkal registered his second consecutive fifty. Later, Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (20) added a quickfire 42 runs in just 19 balls to propel RCB to a formidable total of 205.

In response, Rajasthan got off to a flying start thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal (49 off 19), who smashed a six off the very first ball of the innings. Along with Vaibhav Suryavanshi (16), Jaiswal took RR past 50 inside the fifth over. Nitish Rana (28) joined the party with aggressive batting, and Rajasthan reached 72 runs by the end of the powerplay. However, Josh Hazlewood (4/33) delivered a breakthrough by dismissing Jaiswal, offering Bengaluru some much-needed relief.

Krunal Pandya (2/31) then turned the game in RCB’s favor. He removed Riyan Parag in the 10th over and later dismissed Rana as well, putting the brakes on Rajasthan’s scoring. The pressure then fell on Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer—who had underperformed in the last two games. Their partnership started to look dangerous, but Hazlewood struck again in the 17th over to remove Hetmyer.

Jurel reignited hopes with a 22-run blitz in the 18th over against Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But Hazlewood returned in the 19th over to seal the deal, dismissing both Jurel (47) and Jofra Archer while conceding just one run. With 17 runs needed in the final over, Rajasthan fell short, managing only 194. Yash Dayal held his nerve and ensured a memorable win for RCB, bringing their home crowd to life once again.
