Batting first, Sunrisers managed to score only 162 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Mumbai chased down the target with 11 balls to spare. Will Jacks top-scored for Mumbai with 36 runs, while Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets. This was Mumbai Indians’ third win of the IPL 2025 season, while Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their fifth defeat.

Chasing 163, Mumbai got a solid start from Rohit Sharma, who looked in good touch before being dismissed for 26. Ryan Rickelton added 31 runs off 23 balls, Suryakumar Yadav smashed 26 off 15, and Will Jacks anchored the innings with a 26-ball 36. Hardik Pandya made a quick 21 from 9 deliveries, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 21 off 17 balls to take Mumbai home. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 162/5 after opting to bat. Abhishek Sharma top-scored with 40 off 28 balls. The opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek were lucky to survive chances in the very first over. Head scored 28 off 29 balls before getting out. Sunrisers struggled to find rhythm in their innings, and it wasn’t until the 18th over that the first six of their innings was hit—courtesy Klaasen, who took on Rahul Chahar for 21 runs in the over, denting his figures (0/47 in 4 overs). Hyderabad finished strongly, adding 57 runs in the final five overs to lift their total.
