Mukesh Ambani announces investment plans in Bengal in BGBS23

Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Group, announced a major investment in Bengal on the first day of the World Bengal Trade Conference.  He said that in the next three years, his organization will invest 20,000 crore rupees in various fields of the state.  On the same stage, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee handed over the appointment letter to Saurabh Gangopadhyay as the brand ambassador of the state.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the seventh trade conference at the Biswa Bangla Convention Center in Newtown on Tuesday.  Before that, Mamata had a meeting with Mukesh.  Apart from Ambani, Sanjeev Goenka, ITC chairman Sanjeev Puri, Bengal Ambuja Group chief Harsh Neotia and other industrialists highlighted Bengal's industrial potential in their speeches on Tuesday.  Other investment proposals have also come in the state.  Mamata also highlighted the changing Bengal in her speech.    From foreign industrialists to business leaders were also present at the trade conference.

Mukesh praised Mamata's leadership on the stage of the trade conference.  He said, "Mamatadi's visionary leadership has created an ideal environment for investment in Bengal.  This state has now become an investment destination.

For us, Bengal is now one of the investment destinations.'' After that, he announced that Reliance Group will invest another 20 thousand crore rupees in Bengal in the next three years.  In Mukesh's words, "Reliance has already invested 45 thousand crores in the state.  Another 20 thousand crore rupees will be invested in the next three years.''  Reliance executives said investments will be made to further digitally enhance education, health and agriculture sectors.  At the same time, they are determined to extend Jio's telecom reach to more remote areas.  Besides, the importance that Reliance has placed on bio-energy production will also be invested in Bengal.  The Reliance boss claimed with statistics that Jio has already reached 98 percent of users in the Kolkata zone through teleconnection.  Reliance wants to do it 100 percent.  In Mukesh's words, "Bangla's GDP shows how fertile the state is for investment now."

Renovation of Kalighat Temple was earlier given to Reliance Group.  They started working last June.  Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani wanted to assure Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee about the reforms from the stage of the World Bengal Trade Conference on Tuesday.  Mukesh said in Biswa Bangla Auditorium, "Reliance Group is working on the renovation of Kalighat temple.  Renovation work is very close to my and Nita's (his wife) hearts.  We are supervising.  Thank you for giving us this opportunity.”

It was a surprise to announce Sourav Ganguly as the brand ambassador at the World Bengal Trade Conference.  At the end of his speech on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said, "I now want to make an announcement." While announcing Sourav's name as the band ambassador, he called Dada.  Mamata said, "I don't want to hear no."  Everything should be seen from a positive perspective.'' Mamata immediately handed over a letter to Sourav.  According to Navanna sources, Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi will give official appointment letter.  It is also learned that Sourav will not take any money from the state to fulfill this duty.  Incidentally, there was no brand ambassador in the left wing in the state.  After Trinamool came to power, Mamata was the first to take initiative in this matter.  For the first time, he called actor Shahrukh Khan as the 'ambassador' of the state.  This time Sourav was appointed.
