CWC2023 : New Zealand wrong footed by Oakistan & DLS after getting 401

 




Pakistan helped by an explosive Fakhar Zaman 100 and DLS , somehow managed to beat New Zealand  at Bangalore  after their bowlers have leaked 401 in the Bew Zealand innings .   After New Zealand's innings in Bangalore, it seemed that Pakistan will exit from the World cup  . However  Fakhar Zaman played a breathtaking innings getting a blazing 100 and after that the rain saved them.  Pakistan beat New Zealand by Duckworth-Lewis rule.  This loss has put New Zealand in an uncertain situation as for their semi-finals hopes. 



 Pakistan captain Babar won the toss and bowled  first as rain was forecast in Bengaluru.  But New Zealand was making quick runs from the beginning.  Captain Williamson returned to the team against Pakistan.  As a result, Rachin Ravindra came to open this match in place of Will Young.  Rachin once again recognized his talent.  After Conway was dismissed for a breezy 35 runs, Ravindra paired with Williamson.  This duo led the team to big runs.


 Ravindra batted superbly again and  scored his third century in the current World Cup. His drives , cuts lofted shots were a treat to watch.    He has the highest run for New Zealand in the current competition.  Williamson also looked good after recovering from injury.  He was batting fluently.  Williamson missed the hundred for just 5 runs.  Rachin was dismissed for 108 runs.



New Zealand's next batsmen did not let the run-scoring pace slow down.  Mark Chapman scored 39 off 27 balls and Glenn Phillips scored 41 off 25 balls.  New Zealand finished with 401 runs after losing 6 wickets in 50 overs.


 To survive in the World Cup, Pakistan had to start very well.  But Abdullah Shafiwue was out cheaply .  After that, Fakhar started the devastating batting.  Captain Babar accompanied him.  Fakhar was using the power play to play big shots.  He did not spare  any bowler.


 Fakhar's batting showed how hungry he is after not getting a chance for so long.  He started from where he left off against Bangladesh.  Fakhar scored a hundred in just 63 balls. He was depositing the spinners & pacers into the stands effortlessly .   This is the fastest century for Pakistan in the World Cup.  Babar was playing on the other side and rotated strike .  He kept an eye on the wicket so that it did not fall.  Sometimes the game got stopped due to rain.  At that time, Pakistan was leading by 10 runs according to the Duckworth-Lewis rule.  Later when the game started, Pakistan again started attacking cricket.  Rain started again when Pakistan scored 200 runs in 25.3 overs.  The game could not be started further.  Pakistan was leading by 21 runs then.  They won by that margin.  Fakhar remained unbeaten on a brilliant 126 and Babar on 66 runs.


 As a result of this loss, New Zealand fell under some pressure.  They lost four matches in a row.  As a result, their fight to reach the last four has become  difficult. They will need to beat Sri Lanka in their last game to secure semis spot .

Red alert of more heavy rains in Maharashtra, closures announced in schools, colleges in some districts

  It is raining continuously in many districts of Maharashtra.  The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for 4 districts, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the state today i.e. on Thursday.  Keeping this in mind, a holiday has been declared today (July 27) for schools and colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur districts.  Orange alert of rain has been issued in Raigarh district.  In such a situation, the district administration will take a decision on the basis of the situation with Raigad district.  On the other hand, July 27 has been declared a holiday for all government, private schools, all colleges, all ashram schools, business and training centers within Panvel Municipal Corporation limits.  The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai as well as Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur.  In such a situation, keeping in view the possibility of heavy rains, school students of class I to 12 of all medium

Heavy rains totally disrupts train services in Mumbai area, CM orders early closure of Govt Offices

  Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, the speed of Mumbai local has slowed down.  Many trains have been cancelled and diverted. Due to heavy rains in Thane district adjacent to Mumbai, the track changing point on the Kalyan-Kasara route was damaged, due to which train services on this route were stopped on Wednesday afternoon.  A senior railway official gave this information.  The Central Railway also informed that it has diverted some mail and express trains on Diva-Panvel-Karjat route and Daund-Manmad route, besides terminating some trains between Mumbai and Pune.   Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday ordered that the government offices in Mumbai and the neighboring region should be closed early.
