Maxwell magic dwarfs Ruturaj special as Aus steals a thriller to stay in the series

Australia has registered a resounding victory in the third T-20 match held in Guwahati and has made a comeback in the ongoing series against Team India in an absolute thriller .  In this high scoring match, the fans held their breath till the end, because Australia's Glenn Maxwell was in breathtaking form .  When only 2 runs were needed on the last ball to win, Glenn Maxwell hit a four and gave his team victory in sensational style .  Despite this defeat, Team India is still ahead 2-1 in the series and two matches are still left.

In this match, India had given a target of 223 to Australia, in response Australia chased this target on the last ball.  Glenn Maxwell proved to be a hero for the team, Maxwell scored a brilliant century and single-handedly led his team to victory.  Australia scored 225 runs after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs.  Glenn Maxwell hit 8 fours and 8 sixes in his astonishing innings of 104 runs in a mere 48 balls , which overshadowed Team India.

The strokeplay by Maxwell was breathtaking as he smashed the struggling Indian bowling with his power hitting that included one sensational switch hit for a 6 .

At one time, when Australia's wickets were falling continuously, the match was completely in the control of Team India.  Australia needed about 49 runs to win in the last 3 overs, but under pressure, captain Suryakumar Yadav could not take the right decision.  The 19th over was given to Akshar Patel, which proved costly for Team India.  Akshar Patel gave away 22 runs in the 19th over, after which Australia needed 21 runs to win in the 20th over.

Here Prasidh Krishna was given the over, but he could not do anything amazing.  The match went till the last ball, but nowhere did it seem that Australia would not be able to complete this score.  Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell hit 4 fours and 1 six in the last over and led their team to victory.

Here Team India had another loss, because due to slow over rate, Team India was penalized, hence only 4 fielders were able to stay outside the 30 yards circle in the last over.  Talking about Prasidh Krishna, he gave 68 runs in his four over spell, which is a record for any Indian bowler.

Australia started in blistering fashion with World cup hero Travis Head playing his first game of this series after a 8 day break . Head was off to a flying start with 35 off 18 balls that had Australia motoring along . Hardie (16) impressed briefly but was out to Arshdeep while Avesh dismissed Head . Inglis (10) was castled by Bishnoi & Stoinis (17) could not get going . David was out 1st  ball to Bishnoi who impressed in taking 3 wickets.  However once Maxwell (104*) and a quick scoring Wade (28 not out off 16 balls) got together , the match gradually went out of India's grasp as Maxwell played another all time great innings in 4 weeks .

Ruturaj did wonders for Team India but in vain .

If we talk about Team India's batting, then Ruturaj Gaikwad proved to be the hero here, who scored the first century of his T20 career.  Team India suffered setbacks in the beginning, after which Ruturaj took charge of the innings and kept scoring runs from one end.  Ruturaj hit 13 fours and 7 sixes in his innings of 123 runs, his offside shots particularly the drives & cuts was awesome to look at. Ruturaj was supported by captain Suryakumar Yadav (a quickfire 39) and Tilak Verma (33), on the basis of these innings Team India was able to reach the score of 222.  If we talk about the rest of the batsmen, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored only 6 runs and Ishan Kishan scored  0 runs as both were dismissed when the ball was swinging early . Behrendorff was brilliant as he took 1/12 in just 4 overs but the rest bowlers were costly .  However  even such a big score fell short and Australia achieved this target in a sensational  finish that will be remembered for long .
