Nitto ATP tennis: Djokovic beats Sinner in final to win record 7th title

Novak Djokovic  is simply unstoppable at the moment . The year end World number one continued his dream run and beat crowd favourite  Italian Jannick Sinner  6-3 , 6-3 in the final .

Sinner who was in superb touch in this event , having won all his previous 4 matches including the semis vs Medvedev , looked off colour in the final  unable  to extend Djokovic whom he beat in 3 sets in the group stage.

The match started with Djokovic breaking to lead 3-1 in the first set . Sinner who was making some unforced errors could not bounce back and lost the first set 6-3 in 40 minutes .

Djokovic straightaway broke Sinner early in the second set but Sinner tried hard to bounce back and even went close to two break points on Djokovic's serve  but the Serbs resilience saw him      through those tricky games.  Sinner kept playing inconsistently and finally double faulted to lose the match  6-3 , 6-3 .

Djokovic thus overtaking Federer and getting his 7th title at the year end event . He finished off a great year of 3 grand slam wins and year end number 1 and completing  400 weeks as number one in the proccess.
