Repeated earthquakes forces emergency in Iceland

A state of emergency has been declared in Iceland due to repeated earthquakes .  According to administration sources, at least 800 earthquakes have occurred in certain parts of the country in the last 14 hours.  In which strong tremors were felt several times.  The strongest tremor on the Richter scale was 5.2.  The government has declared a state of emergency in Iceland due to repeated earthquakes

Since the end of October, Iceland has started shaking with frequent earthquakes.  At least 24,000 tremors have been felt since October in the southwest of the country on the Rexens Plateau.  The level of tremors increased further since Friday.  It is believed that a volcano may erupt in the area soon.  Frequent earthquakes indicate that.

On the Reykjavík plateau lies the village of Grindavik, only three kilometers from the source of the earthquake.  Four thousand people live in this village.  Meteorologists said that even if a volcano erupts, it will take a few more days.  The Iceland administration has arranged to evacuate this village.  A state of emergency has been issued and the people of the country have been warned.  They are asked to be prepared for any eventuality.

Violent tremors started on Friday afternoon in Rexjans Plateau.  Houses were shaken by two successive earthquakes.  Many people have also recorded strong shaking of doors and windows.

Iceland's Meteorological Department said magma was accumulating five kilometers below the ground deep in the Reykjans Plateau.  If it begins to rise upwards, then there will be an eruption.  But it will take some more days.  The government of Iceland has prepared to deal with all kinds of situations.
