IPL2024 : Gautam Gambhir returns to KKR , this time as mentor

 




Gautam Gambhir is back in KKR !! 


He was the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants.  Now has became the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders.  Gautam Gambhir was in the Lucknow team last season.  He came to Kolkata this season.  Gambhir won the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders as captain.  This time KKR owner Shah Rukh Khan brought him as a mentor.  Gambhir got new responsibility.


 KKR won the IPL in 2012 and 2014.  Gambhir was the captain then.  Mentoring him, Shah Rukh said, “Gambir was a member of our family.  He became a mentor from captain.  We were feeling the lack of seriousness.  Looking forward to see Gambhir pair with coach Chandrakant Pandit.  They don't know how to lose.  They will create magic for KKR."




 On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the name of Sourav Ganguly as the brand ambassador of West Bengal.  Shah Rukh Khan was earlier in this role.  He announced the very next day that Gambhir, the IPL-winning captain, was mentoring the Kolkata Knight Riders.


 Gambhir, the mentor of the Lucknow team, had already taken leave from that team.  At that time, it was believed that BJP MLA Gambhir had temporarily stepped down from IPL duties due to Lok Sabha elections next year.  But Gambhir joined KKR.


 IPL auction is on 19 December.  Before that, KKR will use Gambhir's brain.  KKR, who could not make an impression in the last IPL, will want to utilise Gambhir's leadership skills  and come back in the race to win the trophy.
