IPL24: SRH beat MI by 31 runs in a batting feast , Klaasen , Head, Abhishek sparkles

The 8th match of IPL2024 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians played at the Uppal stadium Hyderabad turned out to be a six hitting carnage with 38  sixes blasted in the match and finally after an exciting game of cricket Sunrisers emerged victorious by beating Mumbai Indians by 31 runs after a 523  run feast on a belter of a pitch and a smallish stadium at Hyderabad .

MI won the toss and bowled but SRH unleashed opener Travis Head replacing Jansen from the 1st game . Head came out all guns blazing and plundered runs with 4s & 6s right from the outset smashing 6s on the on side and driving through the off & finding gaps with ease . Though Mayank (11) went cheaply , Travis found a great ally in Abhishek Sharma as the Indian youngster matched Head stroke for stroke as they plundered 81 in powerplay & continued their carnage . Head reach his 50 in 18 balls abd finally departed for a blistering 62 off 24 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes as Coetzee took his wicket . However Abhishek carried on batting positively and smashed 4s & 6s with effortless ease getting his 50 in 16 balls and finally falling for 63 in 23 balls with 3 fours & 5 blistering 6s .

After Abhishek departure Markram and Klaasen kept batting aggressively but sensibly, playing out Bumrah and attacking others . Markram  got a fast paced 42 off  28 balls but it was Klaasen who smashed the Mumbai attack with a blistering 80 off 34 balls and with his trademark sixes . He hit 7 sixes and 4 fours in an explosive batting display as the ball was travelling long distance . Finally SRH  reached  a record breaking 277/2 and Bumrah , though went wicketless , was the most economical bowler .

In reply Mumbai batters Rohit and Kishan started an allout attack with Rohit hitting 26 in 12 balls before Cummins had him caught in the deep while Ishan Kishan after an explosive 13 ball 34 got out to Shahbaz . Kishan hit 4 sixes in another explosive innings but could not continue . However new find of MI  Naman Dhir scored an impressive quickfire 14 ball 30 to keep MI in the hunt while Tilak Verma after a slow start ,suddenly unleashed himself with explosive hitting which was  enough to worry the  SRH skipper . After playing some magnificent shots Verma  fell to Cummins for a 34 ball 64  that included  6 explosive sixes . Verma's dismissal rocked MI as Cummins and Bhuvneshwar bowled some excellent middle overs that slowed down Hardik in particular as the boundaries became tougher to hit . Tim David continued his explosive batting with 42 in 22 balls but by then MI were falling back in their asking rate that shot up to 22 in the last 4 overs and after Hardik departure for a dissappointing 20 ball 24 that slowed down MI progress , it was too late for Romario Shephard (15 off 7 balls) the impact sub to create any late impact as SRH finally prevailed by 31 runs to take home 2 points while MI remain at 0 points after 2 games .

Skipper Pat Cummins led SRH admirably in the high octane match and was the best bowler in the match with 2/35 in 4 overs .

Abhishek Sharma for his blistering 63 was the player of the match .
