India in total domination of 5th test vs England after Rohit , Gill sublime hundreds

India took the lead by 255 runs at the end of the second day of the Dharamshala Test.  Despite losing 8 wickets, Rohit Sharma is relieved with a big run lead.  Although Shoaib Bashir took 4 wickets for England, he could not control the flow of runs of the Indian batters

India kept the pace of the match in their own hands from the beginning of the day.  They did not lose any wicket in the first session.  Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill's partnership of 171 runs helped India take a big lead.  Although they got out in the second session, Sarfraz Khan and Devdutta Parikkal gave the team confidence.  They both made a pair of 97 runs. Parikkal scored a stylosh 65 runs in his debut match that included several sublime shots mostly of the backfoot .

At one point, India lost 8 wickets for 428 runs.  It seemed that India's innings would end on Friday itself but Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav added 45 runs together.  Kuldeep (27) and Bumrah (19) at the crease at the end of the day.  They can extend India's run lead further on Saturday morning.

Shubman scored a century two balls after Rohit's century on Friday.  India's two batsmen scored at good pace.  Rohit came down to open and scored 103 runs off 162 balls that included his typical imperious shots .  Shubman dropped to number three and scored  110 runs off 150 balls that included several subline shots which were great to the eye .  They hit eight sixes and 25 fours.  They scored 129 runs in the first session on Friday.  None of England's bowlers could put Rohit or Gill under pressure.

Ben Stokes took the ball in the end.  He had a knee injury.  That's why he couldn't bowl in the series .  He was playing as a batter for so long.  On Friday, captain Stokes was forced to pick up the ball after the team's four bowlers failed time and again.  And he bowled Rohit with the first ball that kept low .  The English captain blew the bell off stump.  Stokes was seen bowling for the first time in this series.  Earlier though he practiced bowling in Ranchi.  After Rohit got out, Shubman too could not stay at the crease for long.  The young batsman was bowled by James Anderson in the next over, the ball cut back & uprooted the stumps .

After Rohit and Shubman got out, Parikkal & Sarfaraz took charge of the team.  India scored 112 runs in the second session.  Despite the dismissals of Rohit and Shubman, India had no trouble scoring runs.  Sarfraz and Parikkal batted maturely.  Mark Wood played into their hands as well as Sarfraz drove, flicked , cut and pulled him for boundaries and a six .  Sarfraz scored a fluent  56 runs.  Even though he was out, Padikkal was pulling the team.  He gave the team confidence by scoring 65 runs in the debut match.  Padikkal has been taken in the team instead of Rajat Patidar in this match.

At the end of the day, India lead by 255 runs in the Dharamshala Test.  Kuldeep & Bumrah will try to increase this lead a little more on the third day.  The tough challenge for England's batsmen is to maintain a big run lead in front of India at the top of this leas they are conceding .  Although the way the English batters got out in front of the Indian spinners in the first innings, the English fans are not expecting much improvement in the last innings of this series.
