Stoinis onslaught blows away Pakistan as Aussies achieve 3-0 series whitewash
Australia defeated Pakistan in the third T20 match while chasing a modest target, sealing the series 3-0. The victory was powered by Marcus Stoinis’ aggressive batting.
After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first—a decision that backfired. With Mohammad Rizwan unavailable, Agha Salman captained the team. Sahibzada Farhan opened the innings alongside Babar Azam but managed to score only 9 runs.
Haseebullah Khan (24) partnered with Babar Azam in a second-wicket stand to add some stability, but Pakistan's batting crumbled after Haseebullah’s dismissal. Babar was the lone standout, scoring 41 runs, while no other batter made a significant contribution. Pakistan were bowled out for 117 in 18.1 overs. For Australia, Aaron Hardie took three wickets, while Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa claimed two each. The Aussie bowlers carried the momentum to the final match and were too good for a mediocre Pakistani batting .
Australia’s innings also started shakily, losing Matthew Short (2) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (18) with just 30 runs on the board. However, skipper Josh Inglis steadied the innings in a partnership with Stoinis. While Inglis played cautiously, Stoinis attacked, smashing 61 not out off 27 balls, including five fours and five sixes. Pakistani quicks who dominated the ODI series , were in total disarray due to the fierce onslaught of Stoinis as the balls kept flying towards the boundaries at great velocity. Australia achieved the target with 52 balls to spare. This victory marked Australia’s seventh consecutive T20 win against Pakistan.
