Portugal , Spain win contrasting games in UEFA Nations league



Christiano Ronaldo scored the winner as Portugal beat a tough Scotland 2-1 in the latest round of games in UEFA nations league.


It was Scotland who went 1-0 up in the 6th minute through a header from McTominay but Portugal kept attacking and dominated the game. However they had to wait till the 54th minute to restore parity when Bruno Fernandez long range grounder found the net . Portugal surged for the lead and launched attack after attack . After the post denied Ronaldo once , the legendary  number 7 finally tapped in a cross from the left in the 84th minute to settle the match at 2-1 . 



Meanwhile Spain fought torrential rains , a red card as early as the 24th minute and a dangerous Switzerland to register a heroic 4-1 win over the Swiss in another game . Spain were 2 up by the 13th minute . Joselu's header was parried away by the Swiss golie after the ball had crossed the goalline & Fabian Ruiz notched up the second off a pass from Lamine to give Spain a commanding lead . However a red card foul in the 24th minute reduced Spain to ten men and they were left to play one man short fir the remainder of the match . Switzerland took the numerical advantage to reduce the margin through Amdouni in the 41st minute . However Spain strengthened their defence in the 2nd half to frustrate the Swiss and used counter attack options to deadly effect to score twice through Ruiz and Torres late thr the 2nd half to complete a highly creditable 4-1 win in torrential rain and with one man short . 


Elsewhere Luca Modric curling freekick in the 2nd half was enough to give Croatia a 1-0 win over stubborn Poland .

Manipur violence : Video of brutality relating to women in Manipur goes viral

    Manipur is in the grip of ethnic violence these days, but now tension has spread in the hilly areas of Manipur over a video in which two women are being paraded naked.  According to reports, the video is from May 4 and both the women are from the Kuki community, while the men who are parading the women naked are all from the Meitei community.  Tribal organization Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum has demanded action against the culprits.  According to the Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum, the incident took place on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, about 35 km from state capital Imphal.  At the same time, no one has been arrested by the police in this case.  It can be clearly seen in the video that the men are continuously molesting the helpless women who are crying and begging them to leave.  Condemning this heinous act, an ITLF spokesperson demanded that the central and state governments, the National Commission for Women and the National Commission...
