France bounce back with impressive win over Belgium while Italy beat Isreal in UEFA nations league

 


France regained momentum in their UEFA Nations League campaign, while Italy secured their second consecutive win, and hat-tricks from Slovenia's Benjamin Šeško and Türkiye's Kerem Aktürkoğlu stood out as key moments of the matchday.


France bounced back from their earlier defeat to Italy with a solid win over a tenacious Belgium side in Lyon. Although Belgium initially took advantage of France’s rotated squad, Les Bleus gradually found their rhythm, becoming more dangerous as the game progressed. Their breakthrough came midway through the first half, as Koen Casteels made an impressive save to deny Ousmane Dembélé, only for Randal Kolo Muani to pounce on the rebound and score. France continued to control the match in the second half, and Dembélé’s well-placed shot sealed the victory, bringing them level with Belgium in Group A2.


Italy maintained their perfect start with a win over Israel in Budapest, making it two victories in as many games. Israel started strongly and almost took the lead through Manor Solomon's curling effort, but it was Italy's Davide Frattesi who opened the scoring, skillfully turning in Federico Dimarco's cross. Israel applied pressure early in the second half, but Italy doubled their advantage when Moise Kean capitalized on a rebound after Giacomo Raspadori's initial shot was saved. Despite a late goal from Mohammad Abu Fani, Israel couldn't mount a full comeback.


Elsewhere, Benjamin Šeško and Kerem Aktürkoğlu stole the spotlight with their hat-tricks, leading Slovenia and Türkiye to their first wins of the campaign.


In other action, Erling Haaland continued his incredible form for Norway, scoring his 32nd goal in 35 appearances to secure a narrow victory over Austria.
