This dish is commonly served with rice or noodles and vegetables, making it a hearty, satisfying meal.


How Chicken with Peanut Sauce is Prepared


Ingredients:


4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

1 tablespoon of oil (vegetable or peanut oil)

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 tablespoon of ginger, minced (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

½ teaspoon of chili flakes or a dash of sriracha (for spice, optional)

Fresh lime juice (optional, for garnish)

For the Peanut Sauce:

½ cup of peanut butter (creamy or chunky)

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 tablespoon of lime juice

1 tablespoon of brown sugar or honey

½ cup of coconut milk (or water if you prefer a lighter sauce)

1 tablespoon of rice vinegar (optional)

1 tablespoon of fish sauce (optional, for a more authentic taste)

½ teaspoon of chili flakes or sriracha (for a spicy kick)

Fresh cilantro and chopped peanuts (for garnish)


Instructions:

1. Prepare the Chicken:

Season the chicken breasts or thighs with salt and pepper.

In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.

Add the chicken and sear for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.


2. Make the Peanut Sauce:

In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium and add minced garlic (and ginger, if using). Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in the peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar (or honey), and coconut milk. Stir continuously to create a smooth sauce.

Add chili flakes or sriracha if you prefer a spicier sauce. You can also add fish sauce and rice vinegar for a more complex flavor profile.

Simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes until thickened and smooth. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more lime juice, sugar, or spice as needed.


3. Combine Chicken and Sauce:

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating it with the peanut sauce. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for a couple of minutes so it absorbs the flavors.


4. Serve:

Plate the chicken and drizzle with the remaining sauce. Garnish with fresh cilantro, chopped peanuts, and a squeeze of lime juice for extra brightness.

Serve with steamed rice, rice noodles, or sautéed vegetables like broccoli, carrots, or green beans.

This dish is rich and packed with flavor, with the peanut sauce offering a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and a hint of spice.
