The Athetics is always the leading event in the Olympics and in every Olympics a list of World & Olympic records gets broken & this time too there was no exception .  USA  has once again dominated the Athletics event with 34 medals including 11 Golds while Keyna is a distant second with 11  total medals followed by Great Britain with total  10 medals .  This years Olympics too had some great moments in Athletics  some of which are as under:

American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone shattered her own women's 400m hurdles world record for the sixth time, clocking an incredible 50.37 seconds. Meanwhile, Swedish star Mondo Duplantis set a new men's pole vault record at 6.25 meters for the ninth time. These record-breaking achievements were among the defining moments of the Olympic Games.

On the track, McLaughlin-Levrone's record-setting performance also secured her second consecutive Olympic gold in the women’s 400m hurdles.

The Paris final was the closest 100m race in global competition history—not just at the Olympics, but anywhere. As the race began, Noah Lyles found himself in last place after 40 meters. He surged forward, but still trailed by .01 seconds after 90 meters. In the final stride, the new Olympic champion tapped into his reserves to propel himself to victory.

In two of the Paris Olympics' signature races, Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred and Botswana's Letsile Tebogo made history by securing their nations' first Olympic gold medals. In the highly anticipated 200m final, 21-year-old Tebogo delivered one of the most surprising victories of the Games, winning gold in 19.46 seconds. Thanks to his electrifying performance, Botswana celebrated its first-ever Olympic gold medal.

Ryan Crouser claimed another Olympic gold in shot put. Already considered one of the greatest Olympians, the 31-year-old American achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first shot putter—male or female—to win three Olympic gold medals.

Kenyan legend Faith Kipyegon further solidified her status among the all-time greats. She became the first woman in history to win the 1500m Olympic final three times, setting a new Olympic record with a time of 3:51.29 and winning by over a full second.

Dutch athlete Sifan Hassan collected marathon gold, along with bronze medals in the 5,000m and 10,000m events at the Paris Olympics. In Tokyo, she won gold in the 5,000m and 10,000m, plus a bronze in the 1500m. With these achievements, Hassan became the first athlete in history to win Olympic medals in all four races, establishing herself as a unique figure in athletics.

Belgium’s Nafi Thiam continued her dominance in the heptathlon, winning her third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the event. The 29-year-old became the first woman to achieve this remarkable feat, further cementing her legacy in Olympic history.
