"Intern Shares Experience of Nearly Being Scammed by a Fraudulent Company"

This article recounts the unfortunate experience of Bhomi, an Instagram user who was scammed after applying for an internship. Bhomi shared her story in a video, detailing how she was misled after securing an internship through Internshala, a widely recognized platform for students seeking job opportunities. She had accepted a role as an influencer manager for a company event, with a promised stipend of Rs 15,000.

As time passed, Bhomi grew suspicious, realizing that the tasks she was assigned did not seem to justify the stipend she had been promised. Her doubts intensified when a senior colleague informed her that the company was asking for a registration fee. Concerned, Bhomi decided to investigate further and discovered that the company’s address and GST number were nonexistent, confirming her suspicions. Eventually, the company owner blocked her from further communication.

In her video caption, Bhomi made it clear that Internshala was not to blame and had actually made efforts to help when the company's owner became unresponsive. She expressed her regret for having trusted the company, even after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that ultimately offered no protection. Bhomi revealed that the company has since been blacklisted on Internshala and urged others to remain cautious to avoid falling into similar traps.
