Olympics24 : Morocco thrash Egypt 6-0 to capture bronze in football

Morocco secured the bronze medal in the Olympic men's soccer tournament with a commanding 6-0 victory over Egypt in Nantes on Thursday. The win was fueled by Soufiane Rahimi's brace and additional goals from Abde Ezzalzouli, Bilal El Khannouss, Akram Nakach, and Achraf Hakimi.

After narrowly losing 2-1 to Spain in the semi-finals, Morocco rebounded impressively, achieving the most decisive win of the tournament and marking their first appearance on the Olympic podium. This bronze medal also represents the country's first in a team sport.

Ezzalzouli set the tone with a brilliant strike into the top corner in the 24th minute, followed by Rahimi, the tournament's top scorer, who doubled the lead three minutes later with a well-placed header from Ezzalzouli's cross.

El Khannouss added to the tally six minutes into the second half with a precise low finish after a solo run, while Rahimi further extended the lead with his eighth goal of the tournament. Defender Nakach joined the action with a simple tap-in from Rahimi's assist, and captain Achraf Hakimi capped off the triumph with a stunning free kick just three minutes before the final whistle.
