Pak spinners demolish West Indies batting to win 1st test

Pakistan's three spinners—Sajid Khan, Abrar Ahmed, and Nauman Ali—claimed all 20 wickets in a Test match, leading their team to a commanding 127-run victory over the West Indies in Multan. The match, which marked the first Test of the series, was wrapped up in just three days.

Batting first, Pakistan managed 230 runs in their first innings, with Saud Shakeel scoring 84 and Mohammad Rizwan contributing 71. However, the team’s top four batters struggled, with captain Shan Masood scoring just 11 and Babar Azam managing only 8. Despite the modest total, Pakistan's bowlers turned the match around with a stellar performance.

In the first innings, Pakistan's spinners claimed all 10 West Indian wickets. Sajid Khan, who opened the bowling with the new ball, picked up four wickets. Nauman Ali claimed five, while Abrar Ahmed took one. Pacer Khurram Shehzad bowled just one over without taking a wicket. West Indies were bowled out for 137, giving Pakistan a 93-run lead despite their below-par batting effort.

Pakistan's batting woes continued in the second innings, as they managed only 157 runs. Shan Masood, opening the innings, scored a fighting 52, while Mohammad Huraira added 29. Babar Azam once again fell cheaply for just 5, and Kamran Ghulam contributed 27. West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican was the standout bowler, taking seven wickets in the innings to add to his three-wicket haul from the first innings.

Chasing a target of 251, West Indies crumbled under the pressure created by Pakistan’s spinners, who bowled them out for just 123. Sajid Khan led the attack with five wickets, Abrar Ahmed claimed four, and Nauman Ali took one. Alick Athanaze scored a resilient 55 for the West Indies, but his efforts were in vain as the other batters failed to provide support.

Pakistan’s dominance with the ball secured them a well-deserved win in a match that highlighted the prowess of their spin attack.
