Roti Bowl Chaat is a creative and delicious way to give a new twist to leftover rotis. This dish combines the crunchiness of crispy roti bowls with the tangy, spicy, and refreshing flavors of traditional chaat. It is not just a treat for the taste buds but also a visually appealing snack that’s perfect for gatherings or a quick evening bite.

The roti bowls act as an edible container, holding a medley of boiled peas, fresh vegetables, creamy yogurt, and aromatic spices. The fusion of textures and flavors makes it a hit among both kids and adults. This innovative recipe is a great way to minimize food waste while delighting everyone with its unique presentation and irresistible taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup boiled peas
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 1 chopped cucumber
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 100g yogurt
  • 1 tsp chopped green chilies
  • Oil, as needed

Method:

1. Prepare the Roti Bowls:

  • Use leftover rotis (2–3) to make the bowls. Wrap each roti around a bowl shape and secure it with toothpicks to form a bowl-like structure.
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the rotis until crispy.
  • Once cooled, carefully remove the toothpicks. The roti bowls will retain their shape.

2. Prepare the Chaat Filling:

  • Mix the boiled peas with salt, black pepper, and roasted cumin powder.
  • Add chopped tomato, cucumber, onion, yogurt, black salt, chaat masala, and coriander leaves. Combine everything well.

3. Assemble the Chaat:

  • Fill the crispy roti bowls with the prepared chaat mixture.
  • Garnish with a drizzle of lemon juice, a sprinkle of chaat masala, and some chopped green chilies for extra flavor.

Your Roti Bowl Chaat is ready to serve! This dish is a perfect way to transform leftover rotis into a delightful, mouthwatering snack.
