Devastating Wildfires in Los Angeles: 27 Lives Lost, Thousands Displaced as rescue work is on

Wildfires raging across the Los Angeles area have claimed at least 27 lives, destroyed over 12,000 structures, and scorched more than 60 square miles of land. The Palisades and Eaton fires continue to burn, posing ongoing challenges for firefighters.

Weakened winds have temporarily provided some relief, offering firefighters a chance to make progress and reducing immediate threats. However, the National Weather Service has warned that hazardous conditions are likely to return next week.

Authorities reported that tens of thousands of residents in Los Angeles County remain under evacuation orders. Additionally, curfews are still being enforced in the Palisades and Eaton fire zones from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
