CWC2023: Pakistan outclass Bangladesh, keeps slim hopes of semis alive
Pakistan played a more positive brand of cricket at Eden Gardens to outclass Bangladesh by 7 wickets with 18 overs to spare to not only register an important win but also improve their NRR. Quality bowling by the pacers and good start by their openers helped Pakistan to register an emphatic win against a highly mediocre Bangladesh team. Batting first Bangladesh started poorly with Tanzid(0) , Shanto (4) and veteran Mushfiqur (5) falling cheaply within the powerplay with Shaheen and Haris making early inroads .
