Cuisines: Fried Chicken in Orange Mayo - How to prepare

 



This crispy fried chicken coated in a tangy and creamy orange mayo sauce is a delightful fusion of flavors. The combination of spices, herbs, and the citrusy kick from fresh orange juice makes this dish a perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients:

For Chicken Marinade:
  • Boneless chicken pieces – 500g
  • Egg – 1
  • Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Dark soy sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri red chili powder – 1 tbsp
  • Sichuan pepper – ½ tsp
  • Mixed herbs – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as needed
  • All-purpose flour – ½ cup
  • Corn flour – ½ cup
For Orange Mayo Sauce:
  • Mayonnaise – 1 cup
  • Mustard sauce – 3 tbsp
  • Sweet chili sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  • Fresh orange juice – 3 tbsp
  • Orange zest – 1 tsp
  • Spring onions (chopped) – ½ cup

Instructions:

  1. Wash and drain the chicken pieces well.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the garlic paste, soy sauce, Kashmiri red chili powder, Sichuan pepper, mixed herbs, and salt to the chicken. Mix well.
  3. Beat the egg and add it to the mixture, ensuring the chicken is well coated. Let it marinate for 1 hour.
  4. Add the all-purpose flour and corn flour to the marinated chicken, mixing evenly.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry the chicken until golden and crispy.
  6. To prepare the orange mayo sauce, mix mayonnaise, mustard sauce, sweet chili sauce, lemon juice, orange juice, and orange zest in a bowl.
  7. Toss the fried chicken in the prepared sauce until well coated.
  8. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
