RCB Continue Winning Run with Hat-trick of Victories in WPL as Radha, Richa, Shreyanka shine

Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered their third consecutive win in the Women’s Premier League as Smriti Mandhana’s side defeated Gujarat Giants by 32 runs on Friday. After missing out on a 10-wicket win against UP Warriorz in the previous match, RCB made amends with a dominant all-round performance, with Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil playing key roles.

Opting to field after winning the toss, Gujarat put RCB under early pressure. Openers Grace Harris (17) and captain Smriti Mandhana (5) departed cheaply, while Dayalan Hemalatha (4) and Gauthami Naik (9) also failed to make an impact. RCB’s innings was iƱ disarray at 43/4 but was steadied by a crucial 105 run partnership between Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh. Batting at No. 5, Radha top-scored with a fine 66 off 47 balls, including six fours and three sixes.  Richa provided valuable support with 44 off 28 balls, striking four fours and two sixes. Both batters played sensibly but never compromised on positive strokeplay as boundaries flowed thick & fast . It was a magnificent fightback & recovery. A late flourish from Nadine de Klerk, who smashed 26 off just 12 balls, powered RCB to a strong total of 182 for 7 in 20 overs.

For Gujarat, Sophie Devine was the most successful bowler with figures of 3 for 31. Kashvee Gautam claimed two wickets for 42 runs, while Renuka Singh Thakur and Georgia Wareham picked up one wicket each.

Chasing 182, Gujarat struggled against RCB’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 150. Shreyanka Patil starred with the ball, finishing with outstanding figures of 5 for 23 while Bell snared 3 wickets .  Bharti Fulmali was the top scorer for Gujarat with 39 runs, but her aggressive effort was not enough to prevent defeat. The top order failed to deliver . Mooney (27)  looked good but was lbw to Shreyanka while Devine (8) was caught & bowled by Arundhuti, When Bell dismissed Gardner(3) Gujarat looked out of the game.

This was Gujarat Giants’ second successive loss, while RCB’s third straight win keeps them firmly at the top of the points table.
