Watches usually tell us time. But sometimes, they also tell a story. That is exactly what a newly created luxury timepiece for Anant Ambani is doing. With an astronomical price tag and a design that carries a message of wildlife conservation, the bespoke watch has become a talking point across social media. The timepiece, named Opera Bantara Green Camo, has been created by the luxury brand Jacob & Co exclusively for him.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s youngest son, Anant, is known to own an impressive collection of high-end watches. This time, however, a luxury brand decided to create a unique model inspired by one of its most loyal global clients. The American brand crafted this one-of-a-kind watch, priced at $1.5 million — approximately ₹12.5 crore in Indian currency.

The design and philosophy of the watch revolve around the theme of nature and wildlife conservation. Bantara, spread across nearly 3,000 acres, is home to around 2,000 animals belonging to 43 different species. Rare animals such as Asiatic lions, snow leopards, and one-horned rhinoceroses reside in this sanctuary. Since Bantara is actively involved in the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of wild animals like tigers, lions, and elephants, the watch design features motifs of an elephant’s trunk, a lion, a tiger, the Bantara logo, and even Anant Ambani’s personal emblem.

The timepiece is adorned with 397 precious stones, including white diamonds and sapphires, with a combined weight of 21.98 carats. This extraordinary blend of craftsmanship, luxury, and conservation messaging has ensured that the watch remains a constant topic of discussion online.

Anant Ambani is personally fond of luxury watches, not just for himself but also as gifts for others. One such instance that stands out is when football legend Lionel Messi’s travel plans were suddenly altered and he was flown to Bantara. The Ambani family ensured that Messi received royal hospitality and presented him with an exclusive Richard Mille watch as a special gift.
