Jemimah fifty Powers Delhi Capitals to 7-Wicket Win Over Mumbai Indians in WPL 2026
In Vadodara Jemimah Rodrigues’ unbeaten half-century, following solid starts from Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee, guided Delhi Capitals to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in the 13th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 154 for five, riding on a brilliant unbeaten knock of 66 off 45 balls by Nat Sciver-Brunt, which included two sixes and four boundaries. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also contributed with 41 runs off 33 balls, but no other Mumbai batter could stay at the crease for long.
For Delhi, Marizanne Kapp delivered an excellent bowling performance, conceding just eight runs in her four overs and picking up the crucial wicket of Hayley Matthews.
In reply, Delhi Capitals chased down the target with six balls to spare. Openers Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee provided a strong foundation before Lee was dismissed by Amanjot Kaur in the 11th over. Jemimah Rodrigues then took charge of the innings, scoring an unbeaten 51 off 37 balls to steer her team home with hard run singles & twos & improvised shots yielding boubdaries
Experienced all-rounder Marizanne Kapp remained not out on 10 and sealed the win with a six.
This was Delhi Capitals’ second win in five matches this season, while Mumbai Indians suffered their fourth defeat in six games. After the match, Mumbai skipper Harmanpreet Kaur admitted that her team needs to improve in both batting and bowling during the powerplay.
