Cuisine : Spring Onion Paratha- How to prepare this tasty Indian item
Spring Onion Paratha is a simple yet flavourful Indian flatbread that pairs beautifully with green chutney, butter, or curd. Soft on the inside and lightly crisp outside, this paratha is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a light dinner. The freshness of spring onions combined with mild spices makes it both comforting and aromatic.
Ingredients
Finely chopped spring onion – 1 cup
Refined flour (maida) – 1 tablespoon
Salt – to taste
Chaat masala or garam masala – 1 teaspoon
Oil – 3 tablespoons
Warm water – as required
Method
In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and warm water. Knead well to form a soft dough.
Add a little oil to the dough, knead lightly again, and cover. Rest for 30–60 minutes.
After resting, lightly grease the dough with oil and divide it into small portions (balls).
Roll each portion into a thin disc. Sprinkle chopped spring onions evenly over it, then gently roll again.
Heat a pan and cook the paratha using oil until golden brown on both sides.
Serve hot with green chutney, mint-chilli chutney, or a dollop of butter.
Green Chutney (Optional)
Blend together fresh coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies, a little ginger, cumin powder, and chaat masala until smooth. This chutney complements the spring onion paratha perfectly.
Enjoy this easy and delicious homemade paratha fresh off the pan.
