Ravichandran Ashwin, one of the finest cricketers India has ever produced, has announced his retirement from international cricket following the conclusion of the third Test in Brisbane, Australia. A master craftsman with the ball, an intelligent tactician, and a tireless team player, Ashwin’s career has been nothing short of extraordinary. His contributions have not only earned him accolades but also redefined the art of off-spin bowling in modern cricket.


Born on 17 September 1986 , Ashwin's journey is a tale of brilliance and relentless determination. Over the years, he has consistently delivered match-winning performances for India, especially in the longest format of the game. With over 500 Test wickets to his name, he stands tall as one of the most successful bowlers in cricketing history. Ravi Ashwin had a glittering international career and Test cricket was his most favoured  format  . Ashwin played in 106 tests , took 537 test wickets at 24 average abd 50.7 strike rate with 37 five wicket hauls & 8 times 10 wickets taken in a match. Ashwin was one of the leading all rounders in his era in tests having scored 3508 runs at at 25.75 average . He hit 6 100s and 14 tests fifties.


Ashwin took 156 wickets in 116 ODIs at 33.2 average  and 4.93 economy . He took 72 wickets in 65 T20Is at 6.90 economy . As a batter he had much less impact in the shorter versions compared to tests .


Ashwin has played in 162 First class games taking 779 wickets at 24.96  and scored 5415 runs at 27.62 average with 8 centuries.
