Cuisine : Prawn Sheek Kabab - How to make this tasty Indian item
Winter evenings often bring with them the craving for crispy, fried snacks. However, indulging too much can be unhealthy. If you’re looking for a dish that’s both satisfying and health-conscious, kebabs are the perfect option. While chicken and mutton kebabs are common, you can try something different this time with Chingri Sheek Kebab (Prawn Skewers). Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
500 grams of small prawns
3 slices of bread
1 cup fried onions
½ cup chopped coriander leaves
3 tablespoons chopped green chilies
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon cumin powder
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Butter and oil as required
Method:
1. Prepare the Prawns:
Clean the prawns thoroughly; you don’t need to remove the heads. Heat a little oil in a pan and lightly fry the prawns.
2. Blend the Mixture:
Transfer the prawns to a blender, add a little water, and grind them into a paste.
3. Combine the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the prawn paste, soaked and drained bread, fried onions, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, lemon juice, and a little oil. Mix everything well to form a uniform mixture.
4. Chill the Mixture:
Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 1 hour to set.
5. Shape and Grill:
Take the prawn mixture and wrap it evenly around skewers. Grill the kebabs, brushing them with butter intermittently, until the mixture is cooked through and has a golden-brown finish.
6. Serve:
Once done, drizzle some lemon juice over the kebabs and serve hot with mint chutney.
Enjoy your flavorful Chingri Shik Kebab!
