Breathtaking batting by Hendricks & Dussen helped SA beat Pak in 2nd T20I
On a day of some exceptional batting at Centurion , South Africa powered by a breathtakingly sublime knock by opener Reeza Hendricks and an equally swashbuckling 66 from Van Der Dussen bulldozed their way to an emphatic 7 wicket win over Pakistan with 3 balls left to win the Second T20I and take an unassailable 2-0 series lead . Pakistan was left stranded after Saim Ayub's dazzling 98 which helped them to a formidable score .
Batting first Pakistan lost skipper Rizwan (11) early but talented southpaw Saim Ayub opening the innings found a great ally in Babar Azam as Pakistan scored at a rapid rate till Babar (30) was dismissed by Linde after a sparkling knock . Protea debutant Dayyaan Galiem bowled a lively spell to get two quick wickets in the middle overs but Saim Ayub was playing breathtaking shots all around the ground and showing great balance. He has another fine stand with a belligerent Irfan Khan who struck a hardhitting 30 in 16 balls . Later Abbas Afridi added 11 in 7 balls as Ayub was stranded at the non strikers end having scored a dazzling 98 runs in 57 balls with 11 fours & 5 sixes . Pakistan managed to reach a formidable 206/5 in 20 overs . For South Africa, Galiem (2/21) & Linde (1/28) were the most impressive bowlers in their 4 over spells while the expensive Baartman took 2/51 .
In reply South Africa encountered some rough weather at the start with Rickelton (2) & Breetzke (12) falling cheaply to Jahandad Khan . However Reeza Hendricks looked in amazing touch as he found a great ally in Rassie Van der Dussen . Together they looked in commanding form as boundaries and sixes flowed for South Africa . Hendricks looked in dazzling touch as he reeled off breathtaking shots in sublime fashion. Scorching drives , vicious flicks & pulls with awesome timing helped Hendricks to reach a glorious century while Van Dussen used his savage power to score rapidly . Together they added a 157 in rapid fashion in just 13.4 overs to put the hosts at the dooorstep of win before Hendricks finally was dismissed for 117 scored in a mere 63 balls with 10 sixes and seven fours . Van der Dussen remained not out on a blistering 66 in 38 balls with 5 sixes & 3 foursand with Klaasen (8*) ended the game with 3 balls to spare .
Hendricks for his 100 was the player of the match as South Africa take an unassailable lead in the series .
