The Headingley Miracle – His Greatest Test Innings

If one innings defines Ben Stokes, it is surely the incredible 135 not out against Australia at Headingley in the 2019 Ashes.

England were staring at defeat, chasing 359 with one wicket remaining. What followed was one of the greatest rescue acts in Test history. Stokes smashed the Australian attack to all parts of the ground, finishing unbeaten on 135 and guiding England to a miraculous one-wicket victory. The innings instantly entered cricket legend and is widely regarded as one of the finest Test knocks ever played. 


The 2019 World Cup Final Hero

The defining moment of Stokes' ODI career came at 2019 Cricket World Cup Final.

With England chasing 242 against New Zealand, Stokes produced a heroic unbeaten 84 to force a tie. He then returned for the Super Over, helping England secure their first-ever men's Cricket World Cup title. For his extraordinary contribution, he was named Player of the Match. 


That day at Lord's transformed him from a star cricketer into a national sporting icon.

T20 World Cup Glory

Three years later, Stokes once again delivered on the biggest stage.

In the final of the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Final against Pakistan, he remained unbeaten on 52, steering England to victory and completing the white-ball double after the 2019 ODI World Cup triumph. 


It was another example of his extraordinary ability to thrive under pressure.
