India Women Crush Pakistan Once Again – Extend Dominance to 12-0 in World Cup Rivalry

No matter the venue — be it Dubai or Colombo — the script rarely changes. The tournament may shift, the cast may differ, but the result remains the same. This time, it was Harmanpreet Kaur and her women who carried the baton once held by Suryakumar and his men. On the grand World Cup stage, India Women once again outplayed Pakistan, extending their unbeaten streak in India–Pakistan women’s encounters to an emphatic 12-0.

Chasing a target of 248, Pakistan’s innings crumbled to 159, handing India a commanding 88-run victory.

India’s Tight Grip from the Start

From the very outset, Pakistan were under pressure. Only 4 runs came off the first two overs before chaos ensued. In the fourth over, opener Muneeba Ali was dramatically run out — but not before controversy struck. Kranti Gaur’s delivery hit Muneeba’s pad, prompting an LBW appeal that was turned down. India didn’t take the review, but moments later, Deepti Sharma’s direct hit shattered the stumps.

The on-field umpire initially ruled Muneeba safe, but third umpire intervention revealed that her bat was in the air at the moment of impact. The decision was overturned to “out,” leaving Muneeba stunned. The Pakistan camp erupted in protest, with skipper Fatima Sana storming out to argue with the fourth umpire — but to no avail. The scoreboard read just 6/1.

Early Collapse and Lost Opportunities

Soon after, Richa Ghosh dropped Sidra Ameen’s catch — a momentary relief for Pakistan. However, fortune didn’t stay long. Kranti Gaur struck again, dismissing Sadaf Shamas (6) and later removing Aliya Riaz (2) to leave Pakistan reeling at 26/3.

A brief resistance came through a 69-run stand between Sidra Ameen and Natalia Pervaiz, before Natalia fell for 33. Fatima Sana’s poor form continued — she was dismissed for just 2 while attempting a big hit off Deepti Sharma.

At 102/5, Pakistan’s chase had all but collapsed. Sidra Ameen fought valiantly, scoring a gritty 81, but received no real support from the other end. She eventually perished to Sneh Rana, sealing Pakistan’s fate. The innings folded for 159, confirming yet another one-sided India–Pakistan result.

Kranti Gaur and Deepti Sharma bagged 3 wickets each, while Sneh Rana chipped in with 2. Two run-outs added to Pakistan’s misery.

India’s Batting: Steady Start, Late Flourish

Earlier, Pakistan had won the toss and opted to field on a damp pitch under overcast skies, hoping to exploit the conditions. However, Indian openers Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana gave their side a solid start. Smriti departed for 23, while Pratika made 31 before falling.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur failed to convert her start, dismissed for 19. Harleen Deol held the innings together with a composed 46, narrowly missing her fifty, while Jemimah Rodrigues added 32 before a bizarre interruption — the match was halted for 10 minutes due to an insect invasion!

A crucial 42-run partnership between Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana steadied the innings. Once Rana (20) departed, Deepti too lost momentum. But it was Richa Ghosh, the Bengal powerhouse, who provided the late fireworks — smashing an unbeaten 35 off just 20 balls, ensuring India reached a competitive 247.

Conclusion: A Familiar Story, A Familiar Result

When it comes to India–Pakistan clashes in women’s cricket, the narrative seems set in stone — intense build-up, fleeting resistance, and a commanding Indian triumph. With this victory, India extended their perfect 12-0 record over Pakistan in women’s internationals, reaffirming their dominance and composure under pressure.
