IPL24: Blistering batting & Bumrah heroics help Mumbai Indians to thrash RCB
Mumbai Indians won two consecutive matches after handling the shock of the hat-trick of losses. This time they blew away Royal Challengers Bangalore at home. Batting first, Bengaluru scored 196 runs. But even with that decent score, they could not stop Mumbai. Mumbai won easily with the bat of Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav. With this victory, MI returned to the fight for the playoffs. On the other hand, after losing five out of six matches, the pressure increased on Kohli & Co.
Mumbai captain Hardik won the toss and decided to bowl first. Virat Kohli got runs in the previous five matches. But failed in this match. For 3 runs, Jaspreet Bumrah's ball hit the inside edge of his bat and was smartly caught behind. Ishan Kishan took a good catch by jumping to the left. Will Jacks started well at number three on his IPL debut but could not play for long. He got out after scoring 8 runs off Akash Madhwal.
Bengaluru's innings was held together by captain Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar. Duplessis was not able to bat aggressively in the current IPL. He did that in this match. Patidar accompanied Duplessis. His bat has been silent so far. They were playing well against Mumbai Pacers. The two batsmen also increased the pace of scoring runs. 82 runs between them. Patidar scored two consecutive sixes off Gerald Coetzee's balls. Although he got out in the next ball but not before he scored blistering 52 in 26 balls
Glenn Maxwell failed with the bat once again. He returned for zero runs lbw off Shreyas Gopal. Bengaluru fell under pressure after losing 4 wickets. Duplessis and Dinesh Karthik pulled the team from there. The Bengaluru captain also scored a half-century. After that, however, he could not play for a long time. He was caught off Bumrah by scoring 61 runs off 40 balls. Bumrah put the batsmen in trouble by manipulating the pace and length. No batter could hit him. Bumrah got the chance of hat-trick twice. Siraj gave 23 runs in one over. Maxwell gave 17 runs. Ishan scored a breathtaking half century in only 23 balls in the power play. Mumbai scored 72 runs in the first 6 overs. They confirmed the result of the game there.
In the current IPL, Bengaluru suffered for their bowling. That happened in another match. From pacer to spinner, no one could catch the eye. RCB could not reduce Mumbai's run rate as they could not take wickets. Ishan and Rohit hit big shots in every over. In the end, Ishaan got out after hitting a six off Aakash Deep. He scored an explosive 69 runs off 34 balls.
Suryakumar Yadav picks up where Ishan ends. He did not get a run in the first match after recovering from injury. But his batting in the second match will give relief to the fans. Surya's familiar game was seen at Wankhede. The right-handed batsman of Rohit's team hit sixes one after the other using the speed of the crease and the bowlers. Rohit got out after scoring 38 confident runs. However, Mumbai did not have a problem with that.
Coming down to number four, Hardik also started hitting big shots from the start. It was clear that they wanted to finish the game quickly. Mumbai's batsmen dominated the net run rate. In the end, Mumbai won the match by 7 wickets with 27 balls to spare . Bumrah for his 5 wickets in conditions tough for bowling was the player of the match .
